Mrs. Ruth Popoola, wife of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Governorship candidate, Engr. Popoola Olukayode Joshua POJ ), on Friday, met with women of the Hausa community in Ibadan to seek support and vote for her husband who is looking forward to being the governor of Oyo state in 2023.
Engr. Popoola’s wife in her consultation meeting with the Arewa women expressed optimism about the outcome of the election adding that people are looking elsewhere aside from PDP and APC in Nigeria.
The First Lady hopeful maintained that if her husband happens to emerge as the governor, she’ll ensure that youths and women of Oyo state get trained and certified in a series of trades that could make them self-sufficient as the state can’t provide a job for all.
Mrs. Popoopla who is also of Hausa ring from Kaduna state earlier in the day visited the Seriki Hausawa of Ibadanland, Ali Dahiru Zungeru before meeting the Arewa community most especially women.
Speaking with newsmen, the NNPP federal representative candidate for Ibadan North constituency, Hon. Monsurat Naalado Bawa assured Mrs. Popoola that, the Arewa community is solidly behind her husband, (POJ) who is the governorship candidate of NNPP, as all the Arewa in the state is ready to vote massively for the party come 2023.
