The Media Team of the Oyo State African Democratic Congress, (ADC) Governorship Candidate, Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke (FCA) on Friday has slammed Gbemileke Alagbe, ( Eleniyan) on his falseful claim laid into the position of the governorship candidate for Oyo State, describing the claim as wishful thinking.
According to the Team, “How can someone that has already taken the ADC; the ADC NWC and others to Court in Suit FHC/IB/CS/67/2026 dated 28th June 2026 at the Federal High Court in Ibadan and same Suit already adjourned till 15th September 2026 be claiming he is the Governorship Candidate submitted by the same Party, ADC to INEC? Is that not a contradiction?
“What was his basis in taking the Party and it’s National Working Committee to Court, How can he now comes around to say the same Party he took to court and which the case is still pending has submitted his name?
Adegoke Media Team said it also learnt that at the said press conference, Alagbe was also said to have formally unveiled Barrister Niyi Aborisade as his running mate and Deputy Governorship Candidate of the ADC in Oyo State.
The Media Team said Alagbe’s claim on ADC Governorship ticket is a mere wishful thinking, mirage, delusion and fantasy and an absolute balderdash.
They said Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke (FCA) emerged as the ADC governorship candidate from the party’s primary election, with 16,051 votes, which the result was publicly reported by multiple media organisations. The same reports recorded Bisi Ilaka with 11,415 votes, Gbemileke Alagbe with 241 votes, Azeez Adeduntan with 155 votes, and Niyi Aborisade with 67 votes.
The Media Team, therefore call on the media, the public and members of the ADC in Oyo State not to believe the fabrication lies being perpetuated by Alagbe and his cohorts, saying Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke (FCA) remains the Governorship Candidate duely recognised by the ADC and the INEC in Oyo State.
It also urged the supporters of Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke (FCA) and the good people of Oyo State to remain calm, discerning and disregard attempts to create confusion through unverified claims from Oyo ADC Governorship seat by the usurper Alagbe.
It further said, “The identity of a political party’s candidate is not determined by who makes the loudest declaration or who receives the most publicity. It is determined by the applicable electoral process, authentic records, and the law.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke remains our recognised gubernatorial candidate, and we remain firmly committed to defending his mandate through every lawful and legitimate avenue available to us. We have no objection to any individual exercising his or her lawful rights, but we will strongly resist any attempt to substitute propaganda, wishful thinking, or unverifiable claims for established facts”.
