As Muslims across the world commence fasting in the holy month of Ramadan, the chairmanship candidate of the People Democratic Party, PDP in Ibarapa North Local Government Area, Hon Lateef Akorede has urged Muslims to pray for peace and development.
Akorede in a Ramadan message made available to newsmen on Tuesday urged Muslims particularly in Ibarapa North and Oyo state in general to use the opportunities of the holy month judiciously.
He also called them to pray for the Oyo State Government-led by Engineer Seyi Makinde.
He noted that peace is one of the major things being threatened in world as Nigeria battles with all forms of vices.
He added that peace will surely bring development when it comes.
His words: “I want to use this opportunity to felicitate Muslims in Ibarapa North local government, Ibarapa zone and Oyo state in general on the commencement of this year’s Ramadan fasting.
“One of the major things the world needs now in peace. I want to urge everyone to pray for peace and development in this holy month. Let’s make judicious use of the holy month.
“As we pray for this, let’s also pray for our Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, the one who’s piloting the affairs of the state.”
