Hon. Lukman Abayomi Olajide, popularly known as “Royal Umbrella,” was on Thursday given a rousing welcome at the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ward 9 meeting in Ibadan North Local Government.
Olajide, who recently defected to the APC, attended the meeting on August 6, 2026, where he was received by party leaders including the Ward 9 Chairman, Pastor Adewale Kehinde; APC Ibadan North Constituency II House of Assembly candidate, Hon. Steve Adeyoju; and former Ibadan North Local Government Chairman, Hon. Omilabu Ghandi, alongside other stakeholders.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement as members described his defection as an added advantage to the APC in Oyo State and Ibadan North in particular.
In his remarks, Hon. Olajide appreciated the leadership and members of Ward 9 for their loyalty and dedication to the party. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the APC at the grassroots and working with party leaders to achieve greater success in future elections.
As part of his support, the politician donated cash gifts to party leaders and members present. He also provided food items to encourage the members, a gesture that was received with gratitude and loud applause.
Party leaders commended Hon. Olajide for his generosity, humility, and consistent dedication to the welfare of party faithful. They described him as a dependable grassroots politician whose actions continue to inspire confidence among APC members.
