In fulfilment of his campaign promise to his constituents, a member representing Akinyele/Lagelu federal constituency, Oyo, Hon. Akinmoyede Olafisoye Wasiu on Thursday commissioned a block of six classrooms with furniture he facilitated to Community Grammar School, Lalupon.

Today was a day the people of Lalupon community had anxiously waited for as they rolled out the drums to receive their kinsman Hon. Olafisoye for keeping to his promise.

The building project facilitated by the lawmaker under the 2024 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Special Intervention project is the first of its kind facilitated by any elected lawmaker in the history of Akinyele/Lagelu federal constituency according to many speakers that spoke at the occasion.

In his speech, Hon. Olafisoye Akinmoyede thanked God for giving him the opportunity to fulfill his promise by facilitating the classroom to his alma mater where he graduated in 1989.

Hon. ‘Lafi’ as fondly called by many disclosed that the second phase of the project for the 2025 will be constructed in Akinyele local government, the third one for the 2026 is coming back to Lagelu while that of 2027 will also go back to Akinyele so as to ensure equal distribution of projects through him between the said two local government areas.

The elated lawmaker thereafter announced a scholarship for 30 students who will be writing their WAEC in the year 2025 with the payment of the sum of N1,500,000:00 as their registration fee while also reassuring the people of his resolve to continue to bring more democracy dividends to positively impact lives and livelihood of his constituents irrespective of their political affiliation.

While commissioning the project, the Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen expressed happiness and praised the lawmaker for the construction of the said classrooms. He equally pledged to pay for additional 30 students’ WAEC fee for the 2025 examination in the said school.

HON. MUDASHIRU POINTED OUT THAT ALL THE ELECTED AND POLITICAL APPOINTEES IN THE SAID FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY ESPECIALLY IN LAGELU LOCAL GOVERNMENT HAVE RESOLVED TO WORK IN UNION AND PUT THEIR POLITICAL DIFFERENCES BEHIND IN ORDER TO FOCUS ON GOOD GOVERNANCE FOR THE PEOPLE.

Also in his speech, a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Akintunde Emmanuel (AKT) explained that Hon. Lafi who he described as his leader in politics has never disconnected himself from the people at the grassroot and that explains why he has remained a factor to be reckoned with not only in Lagelu local government but in Oyo State politics as a whole.

In their goodwill messages, the Onilalupon of Lalupon, Oba Munirudeen Adekunle Arigbabuwo who spoke on behalf other traditional rulers in attendance, the Local Inspector of Education in Lagelu local government, Mrs Kusanu Kehinde, the PTA Chairman in Community Grammar School, Lalupon, Alhaji Sarafadeen Abiodun Otegbeye and other community leaders that spoke at the event attested to the fact that Hon. Lafisoye Akinmoyede had been instrumental to so many developmental projects in that school where he graduated many years back.

The APC Oyo Central senatorial Chairman, Hon. Joshua Oyebamiji, Hon. Barr. Yemi Aderibigbe, Hon. Mukaila Ambali, Chief Biodun Amoo, Hon. Oyolola Muhammed, religious leaders, community leaders, APC and PDP stakeholders too numerous to mention graced the occasion.
