Igbo Community in Saki has extolled the virtues of the Oyo state Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, describing him as a saint among his contemporaries in the country.
The president of Ndi-Igbo in Saki, Nze Patrick Ezenwuba affirmed this on Sunday while addressing a gathering of Igbo stakeholders at a ceremony organized to mark his 20th Wedding anniversary, honored by the Special Assistant to Oyo state Governor on Community Relations(Ndi-Igbo), Barr. Kingsley Ike as well as the Special Assistant on Oyo state Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), Hon. Tallest Innocent.
Ezenwuba maintained that the two years of Governor Makinde’s administration has positively impacted on the lives of Ndi-Igbo, resident in Saki Zone.
He said: “ I have always said that Seyi is a saint Governor. I revere him so much because we were suffering before he came into office but we have been rescued in this Saki. You know the state of our roads here before he assumed office, but his two years has eased the pain of the past as our roads are better than what it used to be”
“His two years of free education policy has ensured that children of school age who were out of school for the past four or five years, returned to classes with even better learning environment. Our children are also beneficiaries of this gesture and we are proud of him. In the midst of the prevailing economic situation of the country, I don’t know where he gets the money for all he is doing but I pray that God will guide him beyond the present term. “
In their separate speeches, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Relations(Ndi-Igbo) Barr. Ike and his counterpart, Special Assistant to the Governor on OYSIEC, Hon. Tallest while congratulating the couple on their china wedding Anniversary, called on the Igbo community to remain united in their support for the present administration in the state.
They affirmed that the Igbo community in Oyo state have been greatly inspired by Governor Makinde’s unbiased approach to governance, affording equal opportunities for all residents to contribute meaningfully to the economic expansion policy of the state Government.
