The George Aid Foundation, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Ibadan Jericho Metro, has distributed food packs and bathing kits to hundreds of expectant mothers at the Alafara Primary Healthcare Center in Ibadan North East Local Government Area, Oyo State.
The initiative, aimed at supporting the less privileged, seeks to boost the blood system and increase the strength of the expectant mothers.
The food packs, which comprise rice, beans, cassava flakes, crayfish, and food condiments, are designed to provide essential nutrients for the growing fetus.
The Matron of Alafara Primary Healthcare Center, Mrs. Maria Oladeji, emphasized the importance of consuming good food for the growth and development of the child in the womb.
“Good nutrition is crucial for the health and well-being of both the mother and the child,” she said.
The President of the Rotary Club of Ibadan Jericho Metro, Rotarian Afolabi Salisu, urged the expectant mothers to give birth to the number of children they can cater for.
He also commended the George Aid Foundation for their generosity and expressed gratitude that the monthly food packs were bankrolled by the foundation.
The Chairman of Community Development in Alafara, Imam Mosobalaje, thanked the sponsor for remembering the Alafara Primary Healthcare Center in their good gesture.
“This initiative will go a long way in supporting the health and well-being of our expectant mothers,” he said.
Dr. Kunle Adedoyin, Director of Primary Healthcare, appreciated the gesture, stating that it will help in terms of nutrition value for the expectant mothers.
Some of the expectant mothers also expressed their gratitude to the George Aid Foundation, calling on other well-meaning individuals to emulate the gesture.
