The George Aid Foundation has extended its monthly food distribution initiative to residents of Ifedapo Olomi Academy in Ibadan, providing food packs to landlords, landladies, and other residents for June.
The distribution, aimed at cushioning the effects of hunger, malnourishment, and food inflation, was carried out on behalf of the foundation by Rotarian Kunle Aare.
Speaking during the exercise, Aare said the food packs were targeted at vulnerable groups and that benefiting communities were selected after “vigorous investigation and needs assessment.”
“The Food Packs are aimed at addressing hunger, malnourishment, and food inflation,” he told beneficiaries.
Over 100 widows and senior citizens were among those supported during the June outreach, according to the foundation.
Chairman of the Ifedapo Olomi Landlord Association, Alhaji Abdufatai Akinwale, welcomed the gesture and thanked the foundation for the support. He described the distribution as “one of its kind beyond political undertone.”
Some beneficiaries, including Pastor Stephen Ojo, Mrs. Elesinmeta, and Mr. Arowolo Idowu, expressed appreciation to the foundation for including the Ifedapo Landlord Association in the programme.
The George Aid Foundation said the initiative is part of its ongoing effort to provide food palliatives to the downtrodden in Ibadanland.
