Prince Laja Adeoye, the CEO of Fendini Group, has filed a ₦20 million lawsuit against Privus Crest Ltd., Sherifdeen Jimoh, Lanre Ogundare, and others over alleged defamation and false allegations of forgery.
The lawsuit was filed at the Federal High Court, Oyo State, on June 17, 2025.
According to the suit, the defendants allegedly circulated unfounded allegations suggesting that Prince Adeoye was involved in the forgery of official documents related to corporate dealings. The Fendini CEO claims that the allegations were designed to tarnish his reputation and undermine the credibility of his brand.
Prince Adeoye’s legal team, led by Adebayo Adenipekun (SAN), condemned the use of state apparatus to bully and intimidate their client. The team also accused the Nigeria Police of complicity in the matter, alleging that officers from the IGP Monitoring Unit whisked Prince Adeoye to Abuja without prior invitation.
In a statement, Prince Adeoye emphasized that integrity remains at the core of everything he stands for. He also noted that social media is not a court of law and that the accusers should have approached the court with evidence instead of resorting to a campaign of calumny.
The lawsuit seeks redress for the alleged defamation, demands for Prince Adeoye’s fundamental human rights, a public apology, and compensation.
