The Association of Unemerged Oyo State PDP Aspirants for Councillorship (AYOPACU) has congratulated the newly elected chairmen and councilors in the recently concluded local government election in the state.
The association also appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde, the leadership of the party in the state and others to consider them in the appointment of supervisory councillors, special advisers and other appointments at the local government.
They made this known in a statement by their chairman, Abiola Khaleed O and secretary, Raheem Rasheed and available to newsmen, on Tuesday.
The association is made up of aspirants who obtained the party’s form throughout Oyo state to contest under the platform of the PDP but unemerged in the last local government election.
The statement read: “We want to use this opportunity to congratulate the newly emerged local government chairmen and councilors in the recently concluded local government election in Oyo state.
“We want to commend our governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde for upholding the tenet of democracy and for his efforts towards ensuring that dividends of democracy get to every nook and cranny of Oyo state. Also, our heartfelt congratulations to the Governor over his 5 years anniversary.
“We want to appeal to Governor Seyi Makinde, the leadership of our party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the state and others to consider us in the appointment of Supervisory councillors, Special Advisers and other appointments at the local government level.”
