The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) has issued a warning to the public about potential cult activity on June 15, the annual celebration day of the Supreme Eiye Confraternity (SEC), also known as the National Association of Airlords (NAA).
According to POCACOV, the group uses this day to recruit new members, hold elections, and carry out initiations and other criminal acts. There have also been reports of planned gatherings and potential violence.
“The Eiye Confraternity is a dangerous and unlawful group that uses violence and intimidation to recruit and retain members,” said a POCACOV spokesperson. “We urge parents, youths, and school administrators to be vigilant and cautious about suspicious activities or associations. We must work together to prevent the spread of cultism and ensure public safety.”
Parents have been advised to monitor their children’s movements and ensure they are home early, while school administrators have been urged to increase security measures and maintain strict supervision. Hotel and club operators have also been warned not to allow their venues to be used for cult activities, which often disguise themselves as parties.
“The colour blue is predominantly used by Eiye Confraternity members, and the code ‘6:15’ may be inscribed on fez caps or T-shirts,” the spokesperson added. “We urge the public to be aware of these symbols and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.”
POCACOV has assured the public that it will continue to sensitize the public on the dangers of cultism and work to bring it under control through collaborative efforts.
“We will not tolerate any form of cultism or violence in our communities,” said the spokesperson. “We urge anyone with information about potential cult activity to come forward and report it to the authorities. Together, we can make our society safer and more secure.”
