One of the very first things that attracted me to Mogaji is that he is a first class brain with a heart for his people. Anyone that has followed me closely here will remember that even before campaign started at all, I had expressed my intention to promote any candidate that I am convinced has the best interest of the people at heart. I listed a candidate’s antecedents and competence among other things as some of the factors that I will consider in choosing the candidate(s) to work with.

I remember telling the person that invited me to work with the Tegbe team that I will make up my mind on the invitation when I meet with the candidate himself. I had read about Mogaji and was satisfied with his antecedents but meeting with him convinced me about his character and the plans that he has for Oyo South Senatorial District. He knows exactly how he wants to execute the brilliant ideas he has on how to make the lives of his people better. You will agree with me that politics is beyond good intentions but the capacity to deliver on whatever ideas and you just have to give it to JT, he knows his onions when it’s comes to societal development.

This is a man who has expressed in very clear terms his intention to work together with other National Assembly members to make laws that will impact the lives of ordinary Nigerians while promising an inclusive and productive representation if elected as senator in 2023.

Do you know that Tegbe was a national scholar and awards winning student at Secondary and University levels and graduated with a First Class Degree in Civil Engineering. He is also an alumnus of Lagos Business School, Nigeria; INSEAD France; Harvard Kennedy School of Government and Harvard Business School. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA); Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (FCIT) and Certified in Governance Enterprise IT (CGEIT).

My candidate has an extensive and wide range of experience, spanning about 30years leading/managing various projects in institutional transformation, sector and organizational reforms, strategy formulation, blueprint development & implementation, and ERP/IT solution review & implementation. He has done these in varied industries ranging from non-profit, telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing, oil & gas and public sectors; especially providing reform advisory services to Presidency, State Governments and International Agencies. He has led many large technology implementation projects across Africa. Joseph is a versatile and dedicated professional who has gained experience across several competency areas.

As Partner and Head advisory services in KPMG, Nigeria, Joseph Tegbe has worked as Tax Consultant, led and managed various Audit engagement on major local and multinational companies, FMCG, Oil and Gas and Manufacturing sectors. He also has experience in Accounting from his experience as the Head of Materials Accounting for Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), (1991-1992 as contract staff). He is an active member of and consultant to the Infrastructure and Human Capital Development Policy Commissions of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG).

When asked why he chose to join politics despite his immense achievements in the private sector, Mogaji Tegbe explained that his desire to ensure that his people live a quality and better life is his major motivating factor. He explained that as a senator, he will be committed to the sponsorship of impactful policies that will drive investment into Oyo State and also lead to an improvement in the lives of his people.

In 2013, he founded the Tegbe foundation which focuses on Agriculture, education, ICT, governance and community development, a non-profit that has empowered thousands. As a compassionate man who has touched many lives directly, it is simply unimaginable the number of lives that will be changed for the better if he is given the mandate to serve as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I am particularly glad that we now have a man of Joseph Tegbe stature contesting as a senator in our constituency. I have no doubt at all that he will do well. People of Oyo South Senatorial Constituency, let us take this chance of a lifetime and elect a quality senator that we will all be proud of!

Oluwatoyin Adeyemi Okediran writes from Bodija, Ibadan .
