Oyo state has recorded another 56 new confirmed cases of coronavirus, insideoyo.com reports.
This is according to the Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control (NCDC) and Governor Seyi Makinde in Twitter posts.
Saki West local government has the highest number of cases with 14 followed by Oluyole with 9 cases as tweeted on Thursday morning by the Governor.
With this, the number of COVID-19 cases in Oyo has reached 470.
Makinde said “The COVID-19 confirmation tests for fifty-six suspected cases came back POSITIVE. The cases are from Saki West (14), Oluyole (9), Ibadan North (6), Akinyele (10), Ibadan South East (5), Ibadan South West (4)”
“Ibadan North West (2), Atisbo (1), Saki East (1) Ido (1), Ona Ara (1), Ibarapa North (1), Egbeda (1) Local Government Areas. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 661.
Oyo also recorded one death bringing the total number of Covid-19 related deaths to 9 in the state.
“One COVID-19 related case passed away today. So, the total number of deaths in Oyo State is nine.”
