The people of Ofiki Land in ATISBO local government area of Oyo State have been thrown into jubilation as the construction of a new bridge at Isale Abata has been approved by the Oyo state government.
The new bridge will replace the old one that collapsed, bringing relief to residents and commuters.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen by traditional ruler, Aare Alawo Ekun of Ofiki Land, Oba Gbenga Adigun Adeoye Oyetunji Oyinlola II JP Phf, on Saturday.
According to the statement, the approval was secured by Hon. Muyiwa Alade Bashir, Chairman of ATISBO Local Government.
The traditional ruler has on behalf of the entire Ofiki people expressed their gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde and the Chairman of ATISBO local government, Hon Bashir Olumuyiwa Alade.
Oba Oyinlola II said the approval is in fulfillment of one of the campaign promises of the Governor to the town.
He added that the people of Ofiki Land are optimistic that this development will pave the way for more projects, particularly in the road network.
He prayed that Almighty God will keep Ofiki united and attract more developmental projects.
The statement read: “It’s my pleasure to announce the approval of the construction of a new bridge at Isale Abata to replace the collapsed old bridge.
“Special appreciation to Hon Muyiwa Alade Bashir the Chairman Atisbo Local Government Oyo State for securing the approval. Our collective resilience earned us this great development.
“On behalf of the Aare Alawo Ekun In Council and the entire Ofiki people, we appreciate the Executive governor of Oyo State for granting the approval as part of his campaign promise to our town.
“May Almighty God keep Ofiki united to experience more developmental projects particularly the road network.”
