In a significant demonstration of growing grassroots organisation and political solidarity, Oyo State governorship aspirant, Hon. Abimbola (Bimbo) Adekanmbi, on Wednesday inaugurated 33 Local Government Ambassadors of the Bimbo Adekanmbi Diaspora Alliance (BADA) at his Onireke Campaign Office in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The colourful ceremony, which brought together all 33 BADA Ambassadors representing the 33 local government areas of Oyo State, marked an important milestone in the Alliance’s efforts to strengthen grassroots participation, expand political awareness and build a coordinated support structure across the state ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The Bimbo Adekanmbi Diaspora Alliance (BADA) is a political support organisation established by Nigerians in the diaspora who share a common belief in Adekanmbi’s leadership capacity, professional competence and vision for the development of Oyo State. Recognising that meaningful political engagement must extend beyond geographical boundaries, the Alliance has expanded its operations to the grassroots through the appointment of Ambassadors in all 33 local government areas.

The BADA Grassroots Ambassadors are community-based representatives entrusted with promoting the Alliance’s objectives, strengthening local engagement, facilitating communication with residents and coordinating grassroots activities in support of Adekanmbi’s governorship ambition. Their inauguration represents a significant transition from diaspora-based advocacy to an organised, statewide network of grassroots representatives capable of connecting communities with the wider campaign structure.

A major highlight of the occasion was the inaugural address of the BADA Coordinator, Alhaji Adegboyega Aderolu, delivered on his behalf by a member of the BADA Executive Committee, Princess Loveth Olakuleyin. In his address, Alhaji Aderolu reaffirmed the unwavering allegiance, loyalty and collective support of BADA members and the 33 Grassroots Ambassadors to the governorship aspiration of Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi.

He expressed the Alliance’s firm belief in Adekanmbi’s capacity to provide purposeful and effective leadership, citing his wealth of experience in public administration, financial management and governance, as well as his compassion and genuine concern for the welfare of the people of Oyo State.

The Coordinator emphasised that BADA’s support was rooted not merely in political affiliation but in a firm conviction that Adekanmbi possesses the competence, experience, integrity and understanding required to address the challenges facing Oyo State and unlock its enormous potential. He further reaffirmed the readiness of the Ambassadors to work diligently within their respective local governments, strengthen community relationships and contribute meaningfully to the broader campaign effort.

In a special acknowledgement, Alhaji Aderolu paid glowing tribute to members of the BADA Executive Committee for their dedication, sacrifices and unwavering commitment to the Alliance’s objectives. He specifically expressed his profound appreciation to Mogaji Olaide Olalere, Mogaji Yusuf Adeleke, Pastor Babatunde Adeleke and Princess Adedolapo Oni for their selflessness, tireless efforts and steadfast commitment towards securing victory for Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi at the polls.

He acknowledged the time, resources and personal sacrifices invested by the executives in building and sustaining the Alliance, coordinating its activities and strengthening its grassroots presence across Oyo State. Alhaji Aderolu noted that the progress recorded by BADA was a reflection of collective responsibility, teamwork and a shared determination to see Adekanmbi’s governorship ambition become a reality.

He also appreciated the contributions of BADA members and supporters both within Nigeria and across the diaspora, whose continued commitment has helped transform the Alliance’s vision into practical initiatives.

Another significant highlight of the ceremony was the official presentation of specially branded campaign face caps and the unveiling of campaign-branded vehicles. The campaign materials, made possible through the collective efforts and financial contributions of BADA members and supporters, symbolised the Alliance’s determination to translate its support into tangible action.

The branded vehicles, showcased to Hon. Adekanmbi during the ceremony, are intended to enhance campaign visibility, facilitate grassroots engagement and support outreach activities across Oyo State. The presentation of the face caps also represented a visible expression of unity, shared purpose and collective commitment among members of the Alliance and its grassroots representatives.

With Ambassadors now formally inaugurated across all 33 local government areas, BADA has established a grassroots organisational framework intended to complement its diaspora mobilisation efforts.

Wednesday’s inauguration and unveiling ceremony marked a new chapter in the activities of the Alliance, bringing together diaspora leadership, grassroots representatives and the governorship aspirant in a shared commitment to the political journey ahead.

For BADA, the occasion was more than the inauguration of 33 Ambassadors or the unveiling of campaign materials. It represented the coming together of individuals united by a common conviction that Oyo State deserves leadership anchored on experience, competence, compassion and a genuine commitment to the wellbeing of its people.

As the countdown to the 2027 governorship election continues, BADA has made its position clear: its members are united in their confidence in Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi and committed to contributing their efforts and resources towards the realisation of his governorship ambition.
