The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja (Aria I), has confirmed the release of the prospective National Youth Service Corps members who were abducted while travelling from Ibadan to the NYSC orientation camp in Abia and Akwa Ibom States.
The victims were abducted in the early hours of Thursday after leaving Ibadan on Wednesday for the orientation camp.
Ladoja confirmed their release on Wednesday evening through his media aide, Mr. Adeola Oloko.
Oloko said the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, informed the Olubadan of the victims’ release during a telephone conversation.
“The prospective members of the NYSC who were abducted have been released.
“The Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, confirmed this in a telephone conversation with the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, at 5 p.m. today, Wednesday.
“It is true. It is good that you want to double-check,”Oloko said.
