The chances of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to retain Oyo State look brighter as another former lawmaker, Hon. Tajudeen Kareem, has decided to join the party from the Labour Party.
Were, as the two-term former House of Representatives member is known, was the candidate of LP in the 2015 Oyo North senatorial election, which he lost to APC’s Sen. Abdulfatai Buhari.
He was the only Action Congress, AC, candidate from Oyo State, out of the 14, elected into the lower chamber of the national assembly in 2007. He was re-elected under the platform of PDP in 2011, having defected to the party few years into the election.
Many had thought that the Saki-born ex-lawmaker would have rejoined PDP but he has decided to follow the footsteps of former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, sources informed insideoyo.com.
He had left PDP for LP, together with Alao-Akala in the build up to the 2015 election.
Insideoyo.com was, however, unlucky to reach him for comment. Call put across to his number is yet to be returned as at the time of filing of this story.
