The Ibadan and District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) have donated books to the Accounting Department of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora.
In his presentation, the 21st Chairman of the Ibadan and District Society, Mr. Abiodun Adedeji explained that the Ibadan District Society of ICAN decided to support Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora by donating Textbooks for eight different courses in accounting, to the institution.
The donated textbooks are; Business Communication and Research Methodology, Principles of Audit, Information Technology, Management Information System and Cost Accounting.
Others are Principles and practice of Financial Accounting, Business and Finance and Management.
According to a letter signed by the General Secretary of the Ibadan and District Society Mr. Babatunde Kelani, “it is hoped that your institution will make use of the books judiciously to enhance the quality of teaching of students in order to produce world class graduates.”
Receiving the books on behalf of the acting Rector, Alhaji Sarafa Agbogun, the Bursar for Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora appreciated the leadership of Ibadan and District Society of the Institutes of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria for the book donation.
Alhaji Agbogun noted that the donation would assist in the growth of accounting programme in the college and the faculty of Management and Communication as a whole.
The Bursar used the opportunity to call on other professional bodies to emulate the kind gesture of the Institutes of Chartered accountants, Ibadan and District Society.
It would be recalled that the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora had introduced accounting programme as one of the courses being taught at the institution upon the change in the status of the institution from monotechnic to polytechnic.
