The Ibarapa East/Ido Concern Citizens (IICC) has come to the defense of Hon. (Engr) Aderemi Oseni, Member representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, Oyo State, against what they describe as “premature criticism” by the Eruwa Youth Movement (EYM).
“We acknowledge the concerns raised by EYM, but we must recognize that Hon. Oseni has demonstrated significant capacity, quality representation, and commitment to our constituency’s development,” said IICC in a statement on Friday.
The group commended Hon. Oseni’s personal efforts in acquiring N120 million worth of earth-moving equipment, which has been used to rehabilitate rural roads. “This equipment has marked an unprecedented initiative in the political history of Oyo State, and we must celebrate such strides,” IICC noted.
IICC also questioned the motives behind EYM’s criticism, noting that Hon. Oseni has been supportive of the community. “He has covered WAEC and JAMB fees for indigent students, provided transformers, clean water, solar lights, and various forms of assistance. Whose interests is EYM truly serving?” IICC asked.
The group encouraged patience and continued support for Hon. Oseni, highlighting ongoing projects and initiatives.
“We must recognize that progress requires time, and governance involves due process and administrative procedures. Let us be patient and supportive as legislation and project implementation progress,” IICC advised.
IICC also highlighted some of Hon. Oseni’s achievements, including the Oseni Youth Empowerment Scheme, payment of WAEC and JAMB fees, distribution of empowerment materials, and provision of boreholes and solar lights.
“These are just a few examples of his dedication to community development, and we must commend him for his efforts,” IICC said.
The group looks forward to collaborating with EYM and other development partners to address the community’s pressing needs and achieve meaningful progress for the constituency.
“Together, we can achieve great things, and we must work together to build a brighter future for our community,” IICC concluded.
