A group of concerned indigenes of Lagelu Local Government Area has condemned the malicious accusations leveled against Prince Akeem Olofa, a reputable businessman and prince, by Mr. Ademola Adegoke (Baale Papa), Musiliu Kehinde Ogunajo (Baale Paku), Isiaka Akinronbe, and their associates.
The group alleged that the accusations, which claimed that Prince Olofa led an ambush resulting in the death of an Amotekun operative, were fabricated to tarnish his reputation and cover up the people’s criminal activities.
“The claims published on blog news outlets alleging that Mr. Akeem Olofa led an ambush resulting in the death of an Amotekun operative are nothing but a vicious fabrication designed to tarnish his impeccable reputation and cover up the heinous crimes committed by the aforementioned individuals,” the group stated.
According to the group, the accusations stem from a land dispute in Ibadan villages along Odo-Oba, which has already been addressed by the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG). The AIG had issued a directive to all parties to desist from causing trouble, but Baale Papa and his allies have allegedly disregarded the order and resorted to violence and criminality.
“We unequivocally condemn the slanderous accusations against Akeem Olofa and demand a thorough investigation into the incident in Iwo,” the group said. “We urge the Osun State Amotekun Corps to verify the claims made by Baale Papa and his group and to ensure that justice is served.”
The group presented evidence of the group’s involvement in atrocities, including destruction of property, murder, and sexual violence. They alleged that Baale Papa and his associates were responsible for burning a grader machine belonging to Lagelu Local Government, setting ablaze several villages, and raping two young women.
“The perpetrators of the ambush, as well as the earlier crimes in Oloola village, must be brought to book, and Olofa’s name must be cleared of this malicious defamation,” the group demanded.
The group called on the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to protect the palace of Olofa from planned attacks by Baale Papa’s hired criminals and to clear Prince Olofa’s name.
