The grand finale of the Funfunloogun Ileya Football Competition, organized by Honorable Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun, lawmaker representing ATISBO, Saki East, and Saki West Federal constituency, has concluded with a thrilling match.
The competition, which featured 20 teams from across the three local government areas, was more than just a football tournament.
According to the lawmaker, “What we witnessed was far more than a football tournament; it was a celebration of unity, youth empowerment, and the enduring spirit of Ileya.”
The lawmaker expressed his pride in presenting prizes to the top four teams for their remarkable performance.
The competition concluded with Pride FC emerging as the champion, claiming the top prize of ₦1 million. Intelligence FC secured second place with ₦750,000, while Golden Talent FC took third place with ₦500,000. Igboro United FC rounded out the top four, earning ₦250,000.
Abisodun highlighted the comprehensive support provided to participating teams, stating, “Every participating team received full support throughout the tournament. We provided 25 jerseys per team, covering players and coaching staff, and equipped all referees to ensure fairness and professionalism in every game.”
The event was open to the public at no cost, allowing the entire community to participate in the experience. Abisodun reflected on the success of the event, saying, “As I stood among the crowd yesterday, witnessing the joy, pride, and unity this event inspired, I felt deeply grateful.”
Abisodun emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating, “This is the kind of progress we strive for—where our youth are empowered, our communities are united, and our culture is celebrated. This is just the beginning.”
