Insecurity: Listen To Advice, Suggestions  – Hakeem Alao Urges Makinde
">

The governorship candidate of Alliance for Democracy (AD) in 2019 in Oyo State, Engr Oyedele Hakeem Alao, has challenged the Governor Seyi Makinde to explain the genuine reasons behind the sudden and urgent renovation of the Governor’s Office and the demolition the Oyo State Liaison Office in Abuja, adding that the governor is “pursuing selfish unreasonable agenda.”

In a release signed by his spokesman, Omotayo Iyanda, made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Wednesday, Engr Hakeem Alao stated that the reasons given by the state government for the demolition of the liaison office was not tenable while asking the Governor Makinde to explain why he had also embarked on the renovation of the Oyo Governor’s Office, started two weeks back, on which he had not made any official statement, asking “Does he think he can wake up and do things without duly informing the people?”

Insideoyo.com recalls that the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa said that the building needed to be remodel.

The former AD governorship candidate, demanded that the governor should release the amount quoted for the two “emergency” projects as he doubted they were already included the 2021 budget, insisting that “Whether they are budgeted for or not, the residents of the state deserve to know how much has been expended and/or to be expended on the projects.

The statement read in part: “If they are not budgeted for at all, then our governor, as a “transparent” leader he has always claimed to be, should explain where he would get the funds to execute the projects or is he funding them from his personal purse as a “philanthropist”?

“Of course, It’s bewildered that the governor could suddenly demolish the Oyo State Liaison Office in Abuja and also pulled down some sections of the Governor’s Office, namely the security post, the reception because considering the high taste and psychedelic nature of late Senator Ajimobi, the sections being pulled down by Governor Makinde is uncalled for.”

“In summary, Governor Makinde would do well to answer these questions — are those “projects” so important to the generality of the people of Oyo State? Of what direct benefits are the “projects” to the people of the state? What impact will the “projects” have on the economy of the state? Are these the kinds of “projects” a serious government should concern itself with when people are seriously struggling to feed and survive?

“Again, Your Excellency, sir, all these questions beg for answers from you!”
