The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval to The University of Offa (UNIOFFA), Kwara State to commence the following programmes: Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Doctor of Physiotherapy and Community Health starting from the 2026/2027 session.
This followed the successful hosting of a delegation from the Commission for a comprehensive resource verification exercise on Monday, April 13, 2026.
The approval was conveyed in a letter dated June 16, 2026, and signed by the Director of Academic Planning of the National Universities Commission, Abubakar M. Girei.
This approval further reaffirms the varsity’s commitment to providing quality education and meeting the Commission’s academic standards.
Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Offa, Professor Kazeem Alagbe Gbolagade, expressed delight at the outcome and congratulated the University’s Founder, Governing Council, management, staff, students, and stakeholders.
He stated that the achievement is a testament to the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance, and continuous investment in human and material resources.
He reaffirmed the University’s determination to sustain high academic standards and to provide a conducive environment for teaching, learning, research, and innovation.
The Vice-Chancellor also assured prospective students and parents that the University would continue to deliver globally competitive education capable of producing skilled professionals and future leaders.
