Critical Leadership for National development cannot be imported and therefore has to be developed locally. The Young Leaders Council (TYLC) in partnership with Peace-First is organizing a 3-Day Boot-camp for students in Universities and Higher Institutions across Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
The Project tagged ‘Project D’ACE is a Leadership and active citizenship boot-camp designed to increase the level and awareness for quality leadership presently obtainable in higher institutions.
Project D’ACE would inspire, inform and equip selected participants with the leadership skills needed to produce a quintessential graduate ready to take on bigger responsibilities in the society and lead lives worthy of emulation by their peers locally and globally.
Participants would be taken through sessions on Emotional Intelligence, 21st Century Leadership, Active Citizenship, Sustainable Development goals, Volunteering, Effective Communication, career mapping, Community development, building an effective brand among many others.
By the end of the Boot camp participants will:
1. Have a deep understanding of What essentially Leadership is.
2. Be confident to lend their voices to the cause of National and community development.
3.Understand how to demonstrate leadership towards solving collective problems and challenges.
4. Understand how to effectively plan their careers and make advantageous life choices.
5. Become part of a community of young change makers and professionals.
6. Receive a certificate of participation in the project and training.
ELIGIBILITY
1. Students must be between the ages of 16 and 30 on or before the application deadline.
2. Are Nigerian citizens who are admitted into higher institutions in Ibadan, Oyo State.
3. Are able to undergo a 3-day non-residential boot-camp between 13-15th of December.
4. Are proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
5. Have demonstrated consistent interest in leadership active citizenship, community development, social work, business and/or social entrepreneurship
6. Applicants will not be discriminated against on the basis of gender, ethnicity, religion, socio-economic status or disability.
7. TYLC reserves the right to verify all of the information provided in the application. In the event that there is a discrepancy, or information is found to be false, the application will immediately be declared invalid and the applicant ineligible.
