This was contained in a memo that was provided to newsmen on Thursday and signed by the Registrar and Rector of the institution, Mr. Ojo Adeolu A and Dr. Surv. SA Ajibola, respectively.
According to the memo, Friday 6th, 2024, is declared as work-free and lecture free day for both Staff and Students in order to mourn and commiserate with the family of the late political icon
The memo read: “DECLARATION OF MOURNING PERIOD IN HONOUR OF LATE CHIEF MICHAEL ADENIYI KOLEOSO (OFR)
“Sequel to the announcement of the death of the octogenarian, Chief Michael Adeniyi Koleoso (OFR), a Patriarch, philanthropist, business mogul, astute politician, former Secretary to the Oyo State Government, former National Chairman of Alliance for Democracy and specifically, the sole facilitator of the erstwhile Saki Campus of The Polytechnic, Ibadan which metamorphosed in to The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki whose demise came to the entire Institution as a rude shock not because of age but of the period when his nurturing role is highly needed.
“The management, with heavy heart, hereby officially announce the under listed actions in order to bestow honour to the reposed soul:
▪ Friday, 6th September,2024 is declared as work-free and lecture free day for both Staff and Students in order to mourn and commiserate with the family of the late political icon.
▪ The Institution’s flag is being hoisted half way for fourteen days (Tuesday, 3rd – Wednesday, 18th September,2024)
▪ The ongoing examinations fixed for Friday, 6th September, 2024 shall be conducted on Saturday,7th September,2024 and internal arrangements would be made to accommodate examination originally slated for Saturday, 7th September, 2024.
