The late Chief Imam of Sepeteri, Alhaji Abdul Hammed Salaudeen Ariremako this morning buried at his residence at Oke Agoro Sepeteri amid tears and prayers from families and well-wishers.
The burial, conducted according to Islamic rites, was attended by top Islamic leaders and community leaders across Oke Ogun.
Among dignitaries present are the Lawmaker representing Saki East and Atisbo Constituency at the Oyo State House of Assembly Hon. Ridwan Gbadamosi, the Caretaker chairman Saki East Local Government Area Alhaja Rahamat Adeniran and the League of Imams across Saki East Local Government and Oke Ogun at large.
In his sermon, the Chief imam of Ogbooro Sheikh Hussein Abdulsalam Ayeniromo (Abu Ridoh) extolled the virtues of the late imam and admonished the family to take heart as the late cleric lived a fulfilled life.
Fielding questions from journalists after the burial, the Chairman, Nigerian Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs Saki East Local Government Alfa Lawal Akeem Olasunkanmi sued for peace as the process to fill the vacant position will commence immediately and a new chief imam will be announced at the appropriate time and pleaded with all concerned to accept whoever chosen in good faith.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Sepeteri Muslim community Alhaji Jimoh Kareem Salam Alaikum Chief, said that the deceased was a man of peace who worked tirelessly to ensure unity among the Muslim community. While he also thanked everyone who came from far and near for the burial and those who have commiserated with them through various platforms.
Alhaji Kareem also prayed Almighty Allah to grant the deceased paradise and give the family and the entire Muslim community the fortitude to bear the loss.
