Oke Ogun Community Development Forum (OCDF) on Thursday, paid the National Examination Council (NECO) fees of 10 students in Kajola and Oorelope local government areas in Oyo state.OCDF which was formed by indigenes of Oke Ogun who came together to contribute their quota to the development of the zone is a non-governmental and non-political organization.The 10 students were selected from 5 schools in Kajola LG and 5 students in Oorelope LG.The schools are Baptist High School, Okeho, Baptist High School, Ilero, Muslim Community High School, Ayetoro, Community Grammar School Ilua, Isemile Grammar School in Kajola Local Government.Others are Irepo Grammar School, Baptist High School, Ifelodun Grammar School, Igboho More Community Grammar School, Comprehensive High School in Oorelope Local Government.
While speaking with journalists, the coordinator of the group, Surv. Eegundiran Oluwakayode Abiodun (mnis) said the selected students were the best students in each school.Eegundiran added that aside helping the parents, the payment of the examination fees was to motivate and encourage students in Oke Ogun.”The selection process involved the schools’ management. We selected best students in the schools according to their academic performances with the assistant of the schools management.”We did this to encourage and motivate the students. This also is a way to help their parents as well.”
Early, while admonishing the students, Eegundiran urged them to see the opportunity as a grace and double their efforts to pass the examination at once.He also added that they should strive to be become great in life and remember Oke Ogun in anything they are doing.He said “See this opportunity as a grace and double your efforts to sit and pass the examination at once. Work very hard, don’t relent, you will be great in life. Whatever you become in life, don’t forget Oke Ogun, your root and source. I wish you the very best in your endeavors.”
Recall that the group in 2019, distributed exercise books for students in 18 schools in Oke Ogun. According to the coordinator, another project will be carried out by the group before the end of the year.
