Let’s say that you had your birthday or wedding coming up and needed someone to bake you a cake to celebrate that special day, Titilayo was your go to caterer. This was before she started working with Easybuy as a Sales Talent Representative helping the device financing company’s millions of customers buy smartphones and home appliances through its installment payment plans.

“I used to bake cakes for birthdays and weddings, and did decorations,” Titilayo said with a feeling of nostalgia. Recounting why she decided to switch from catering to sales, Titilayo reminisced saying, “Catering for events is seasonal and influenced by the economy. It is not all the time that there are jobs to be done. For someone like me who always wants to be busy doing something, I find this boring.”

Tired of always waiting for her phone to ring in anticipation of a potential client, Titilayo was in need of a job with a predictable monthly salary. But, in a country where the national minimum wage is ₦70,000, and youth unemployment stands at 6.5% among Nigerians aged 15–24, she wasn’t just looking for any job, but that job that would give her the freedom to earn as much as she wanted.

From Catering to Easybuy

“I stumbled upon the Easybuy Sales Talent Program while searching for something to keep busy. My husband’s friend who works with Easybuy was the one who introduced me to the Easybuy Sales Talent Program. This was the best word of mouth that I’ve ever experienced. Looking at her and remembering what her life was before she joined Easybuy, I did not need much convincing. I saw that she had made tremendous progress financially since she started working for Easybuy,” Titilayo said.

“My early sales were possible thanks to my husband. He supported me and convinced his colleagues to buy new smartphones from me to make sales in the early stages of my joining Easybuy. I can say that I owe my success to my husband’s support. Now, that is not to say that there were not difficult days. Of course there were. On such days, I always tell myself to keep trying. It’s almost like planting, or should I say scattering seeds on the field. You never know which one might germinate,” Titilayo said.

The Gateway to an Easy Life

Easybuy promises equal financial access to all, and the easing of daily financial burdens for an easier life. This vision, though coined for Easybuy customers, has had tremendous impact on Easybuy’s Sales Talent Representatives as well. Titilayo, like several Sales Talent Representatives, say that they’ve witnessed great improvements in their lives since they joined the Easybuy Sales Talent Program.

“It is satisfying to be involved in a work that you don’t have to wait till the end of the month to get paid. With Easybuy, any time that I am broke and in need of money, I can easily access my earned funds from sales that I made that day, week, or month. Also, if I need money to buy snacks for my daughter’s school feeding, I’ll just withdraw from my Easybuy app. This to me is financial freedom at its peak. Not to mention that I can choose the amount of hours of work to put in for any given day,” Titilayo said.

“Easybuy is a lifesaver for many Nigerians who are in need of smartphones but cannot afford to pay the total cost of the smartphone at once. The installment plan that Easybuy started offering Nigerians before any other company was bold enough and innovative to do, is what has made millions of Nigerians prefer Easybuy; it is what has made Easybuy to become the leading Buy Now, Pay Later brand,” she added.

Rise of BNPL in Nigeria

Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) in Nigeria has grown rapidly over the past few years. The sector is projected to grow from approximately USD 2.14 billion in 2026 to USD 3.97 billion in 2031, and is being driven by rising smartphone penetration, digital commerce, and the need for more accessible consumer financing.

For millions of Nigerians, the demand for smartphones and consumer electronics continues to rise rapidly. Smartphones are no longer luxury items. They are tools for communication, education, work, banking, business, and more. However, despite rising connectivity, a significant access gap persists, with over 120 million Nigerians still offline, largely due to the high cost of smartphones.

Due to the high inflation rate and rising cost of living, many Nigerians struggle to pay for quality devices upfront. This has fueled the rapid expansion of BNPL in the country, where companies like Easybuy help customers acquire smartphones and home appliances through installment payment plans.

Easybuy Sales Talent Program

Set to run throughout 2026, the Easybuy Sales Talent Program is a revolving initiative designed to unlock income opportunities for thousands of talented Nigerians from sales professionals and young graduates to stay-at-home mothers, POS operators, and SIM registration agents.

The program offers participants the opportunity to earn a decent income and living while working from the comfort of their mobile phones, helping customers access smartphones and other products through Easybuy’s financing platform. For many, the appeal lies in the flexibility. In a country where many people are actively searching for side hustles and digital income streams, that flexibility matters.

Interested applicants who are ready to build high-growth careers in sales, manage their own customers and grow at their own pace can apply via the careers page of the Easybuy website.
