Former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Tuesday paid a visit to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, at his Bodija residence in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The Nigerian Tribune reports that Fayose, who arrived at about 4:50 p.m., was accompanied by political associates and received by the monarch in his private living room. He said the visit was to check on the well-being of the Olubadan.
The visit comes amid recent claims made by Fayose on his X handle alleging that Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, was plotting to remove Ladoja as Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Fayose had also alleged that the monarch could be issued a query for not attending the elevation ceremony of High Chief Sharafadeen Ali to the status of Obas in Ibadan last week.
However, the Oyo State Government has denied the allegations. The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Prince Dotun Oyelade, dismissed the claims, stating that the government had “never contemplated, discussed, or planned such an action.”
Details of the meeting between Fayose and Oba Ladoja remained sketchy as of the time of filing this report.
