The chairmanship candidate of the People Democratic Party, PDP in Ibarapa North Local Government Area, Hon. Lateef Akorede has called on Christians to support the Engineer Seyi Makinde-led government with prayers.
Akorede while felicitating with Christians also called on the good people of Ibarapa North local government to vote for him in the forthcoming Local government elections
He made this known on Sunday in an Easter message made available to newsmen.
According to him, prayers cannot be ruled out in everything.
He added that with the various challenges facing the state especially the insecurity challenges the country is facing, there’s a need to move closer to God as other measures are being taken.
He also expressed confidence in the strategies employed by Engineer Seyi Makinde in tackling the security challenges facing Ibarapa zone.
His words: “As Christians celebrate Easter all over the world, I want to use this opportunity to felicitate with them on the celebration of this year’s Easter.
“With the challenges facing the state and Nigeria large, we cannot rule out the essence of prayers in tackling these challenges. As the Governor is coming up with different strategies like the creation of war room, we also need prayers.
“Let me also use this opportunity to seek the support of the good of Ibarapa North in the forthcoming election. I’m aware of the challenges we are facing at the local level. By God’s grace, when we come on board, we will overcome them in no time”
