The Onigbope of Igbope in Orelope Local Government Area of Oyo State, Oba Moses Olawale, has appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde to expedite the completion of the ongoing Kishi-Igbope Road project, describing the road as a critical infrastructure that will stimulate economic activities and improve the livelihoods of residents.
The monarch made the appeal while commending the Makinde administration for its sustained investment in infrastructure across Oyo State, saying the ongoing road project has already demonstrated the government’s commitment to opening up rural communities for development.
Oba Olawale noted that although work on the Kishi-Igbope Road has been encouraging, residents of Igbope are appealing to the state government to fast-track its completion, particularly because of the ongoing rainy season, which has continued to make movement difficult for commuters, farmers and traders.
According to the traditional ruler, the completion of the road will significantly improve transportation, enhance commercial activities, facilitate the movement of agricultural produce and further unlock the economic potential of the community and neighbouring towns.
He lauded Governor Makinde for what he described as unprecedented infrastructural development across Oyo State, citing the numerous road projects and other developmental initiatives being executed by the administration in different parts of the state.
The monarch also appreciated the Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal and other officials of the state government for their support towards the successful execution of the Kishi-Igbope Road project, urging them to sustain the momentum until the road is completed.
“We appreciate Governor Seyi Makinde for the remarkable transformation taking place across Oyo State. The Kishi-Igbope Road is one of the projects that will have a lasting impact on our people. We are only appealing that the government should accelerate work on the road so it can be completed as soon as possible, especially during this rainy season,” he said.
Oba Olawale further offered prayers for Governor Makinde and his administration, expressing confidence that the government would continue to deliver people-oriented projects that would improve the welfare of residents and drive sustainable development across the state.
