The All Progressives Congress, APC, Oluyole Local Government, Oyo State is set to make a record as the first local government to have a permanent party office in the state with the commencement of ground work towards having a befitting party house in Idi-Ayunre, headquarters of the local government area.
The leader of the party in the local government, Honourable (Dr.) Lekan Adeyemo disclosed to the cheering applause of members at their weekly meeting, that the construction of the party house is a major project of the party and would be accorded top priority.
Adeyemo who was responding to the initiative of a chieftain of the party, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan on plans to have a permanent party house by Oluyole APC stated that APC Party House “is an idea whose time is now.”
The party eader who was full of praise to Olaosebikan for his sincere commitment to the project disclosed that the party had earlier muted the idea of having a permanent party house in 2011 but unfortunately, he said, it did not receive sufficient support.
“With the latest inventiveness of Olaosebikan on this, I want to assure you all that the development of a party house in Idi-Ayunre has become a major project of our great party and it will be accorded top priority. We all know that Oluyole is a foremost local government not only in Oyo State but in the country, thus having the first permanent party office would only further assert to our number one position in the comity of councils” Hon. Adeyemo declared
Olaosebikan had while addressing the hundreds of party faithful at the meeting, designated his intention to join all the leaders and members of the party in the local government in raising funds for the development of a befitting party house that would serve as a secretariat for APC, a meeting place for members of the party and utilize as a social centre for the members of the Oluyole community at large.
Exhibiting his usual commitment and dedication to matters of communal interest, the former Chief Press Secretary to the Late Alhaji Lam Adesina maintained that with the support of all, the party would complete the construction of the party house before the year runs out.
Hon. Tunde Odemakin, the Vice Chairman of the party in the local government who presided over the meeting could not hide his joy as he enjoined members to continue giving their best to the party and pray for greater successes for the Governor of the State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the State Chairman of the party, Chief Akin Oke, the local government chairman, Alhaji Waheed Akinleye and all the leaders of the party in all their endeavors
