The newly appointed Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde on Economic Planning, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola has extended his appreciation to the Governor for appointing him into his government.
Hon. Oyekola made this known in a release he personally signed and made available to journalists on Tuesday.
Hon. Oyekola who is a member of the immediate past 8th House of Assembly from Atiba State constituency was appointed alongside others by Governor Makinde last week.
While appreciating the Governor, Hon. Oyekola said that Governor Makinde deserved to be commended for finding him worthy for the appointment considering the number of politicians who are equally looking for appointments under his administration.
Part of the release reads: “Your Excellency Sir, I want to sincerely express my profound gratitude to you for finding me worthy of the appointment as your Special Adviser on Budget and Planning. I am indeed grateful.
“Your action has shown that you are truly a humane and God fearing leader who keeps to his promises. You have been able to justify the confidence reposed in you when you were massively voted for in the 2019 general elections in less than two and a half years of your administration.
“The level at which you are taken Oyo State to in a short while is worthy of commendation by all the lover of good governance. This is evident in the list of infrastructural projects that you have executed within over just two years.
“With my appointment your Excellency, I want to assure you that I will work assiduously to contribute my quota to the development of Oyo State under your leadership so as to justify the trust reposed in me.
“I equally want to assure your Excellency of the total support and overwhelming victory not only from my Local Government, Atiba, but the entire Oyo Federal constituency in the 2023 general elections.
“On behalf of myself, my family, followers and the good people from Oyo, I once again appreciate your Excellency and pray God Almighty to continue to imbue you with wisdom, knowledge and sound health as you take Oyo State to greater heights.” The statement concluded.
It would be recalled that Hon Gbenga Oyekola had also served as the Executive Chairman of Atiba local government between 1999-2002,Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters 2006-2007, and also as Chairman Board of Agricultural Credit Cooperation of Oyo state 2009-2012 respectively.
