Mogaji Kayode Ogunsola has said that he accepted the position of Mogaji of the Ogunsola family, Oranyan, Ibadan to make a change in the compound.
He said his new post was not about himself but how to elevate his people.
He stated that there was yarning for leadership in the family which he believes he can make a difference.
He added that other concerns in the family such as poverty and hunger eradication, support for education, portable water and others would also be addressed.
Speaking after his installation on Monday, Ogunsola noted that there was a need for him to contribute his quota towards the peace, progress and upliftment of his compound.
He said the Ogunsola family has a rich and robust legacy in Ibadanland, hence, the need to preserve the legacy and make it enviable for other compounds in Ibadanland.
He said: “When I had a meeting with people in our compound. I told them education will be well established, also, poverty and hunger will be of the past in our compound.
“There are things we have to approach with intellect, my concern is how to start to reform the system, I have the capacity, capability and intellect to come to our own system, enhance it and make positive contributions to it.”
“I’m sure we can make a change when we all stand and aspire for a greater things, my impact in the family will speak for me. We must raise our level of thinking and intellect through education and exposure, socio economic advancement, I believe, once you have those two, you have it all.
“All these are because of the love for my people, I want to turn around the life of people in our compound because seeking power for the sake of power is ungodly.”
He added that nobody will be left alone in his efforts to uplift the Ogunsola’s family and make it a place to recon with.
He urged family members to join hands together with him so that the dream can become reality.
