The National President, Nigeria Veterinary Medical Association, Dr (Mrs.) Olutoyin Catherine Adetuberu also implored the fresh vet doctors to distinguish themselves and start making themselves relevant right from the NYSC Camp. In her words “Before they slaughter any animal for you to eat, it must be subjected to antemortem and postmortem inspection. When you insist, they will always call you to come and do your work. Right from there, start distinguishing yourself.”

The Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Olufunke E. Ola-Davies appreciated the Faculty members who through their commitment to teaching and learning, impacted and produced the 78 inductees. She also thanked the alumni for their contributions to the development of the faculty and the veterinary profession.

Professor Ola-Davies advised the inductees to be humble and have a sense of responsibility that will showcase them as good ambassadors of the University of Ibadan. She encouraged those inclined to the academics to return to the University for their postgraduate degrees.

Mr. Ayomide Richard Adeleke emerged as the best graduating student with nine distinctions, and is presently on a PhD programme at Cornell University, New York. He was presented a certificate of honour in recognition of his outstanding performance. Other students who displayed academic excellence were also honoured.
