House of Representatives member representing Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal constituency, Hon Segun Odebunmi Bunvic has congratulated APC and the association of local government Chairmen (ALGON) in the state over the Supreme Court judgment.
On Friday, Supreme Court ruled on the legality or otherwise of their earlier dissolution by Eng. Seyi Makinde-led government.
Bunvic described the judgement as victory for democracy and all its adherents.
He noted that it is unhealthy that a constitutionally constituted authority attempted to undermine the stand of the nation’s grand law just for mere partisanship and against the will of the people.
Bunvic applauded the resilience of ALGON under the headship of Hon. Abass Alesinloye all through the difficult stages of the legal tussle.
He observed that today’s judgement will further strengthen the administration of local government in Nigeria and enrich the related jurisprudence.
He advised everyone in authority to always act within the dictate of law of the land rather than engaging in action that could cause anarchy in the land, which could have been the case without the political clear-headedness and democratic maturity of APC family and ALGON, in Oyo state.
