A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ibarapa zone, Tpl Samuel Adesokan has congratulated the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Oyo state chapter under the leadership of Prince Abass Aleshinloye over the victory at the Supreme Court on Friday.
Adesokan, who was an aspirant for the Oyo State House of Assembly in the last general election also called on government at all levels to respect the rule of law as entrenched in the constitution.
He made this known in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday in Ibarapa.
Recall that the apex court set side the decision by Governor Seyi Makinde to dissolve elected Local Governments Councils in their states.
A five-man panel of the apex court was unanimous in holding that no Governor has the power to sack democratically elected LG chairmen and councillors.
He also congratulated members of the APC adding that the victory is a victory for democracy.
