Former Chairman of the Oyo State Advisory Council and former Senate Deputy Chief Whip, Senator Hosea Agboola Ayoola, has formally resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ending a long-standing political relationship with the party at both state and national levels.
In a letter dated October 10, 2025, and addressed to the Chairman of the PDP in Itesiwaju Local Government, Otu, Oyo State, Senator Agboola, popularly known as Alleluyah expressed gratitude to the party for the opportunities it provided him to serve in various capacities.
“I appreciate the party for the opportunities afforded me to serve as a member and leader, both at the state and national levels, as well as for the achievements made therein,” he wrote.
The former lawmaker, who currently serves as Chairman of the Oyo State Advisory Council under the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, stated that his decision to resign was influenced by his future political pursuit, which he described as “necessary at this material time.”
“You will observe that I did not participate in all the congresses held recently local and state congresses due to future political pursuit which is necessary at this material time,” the letter read.
Senator Agboola, who represented Oyo North Senatorial District in the 7th National Assembly and served as Senate Deputy Chief Whip, announced that his resignation takes effect immediately.
“Consequently, I hereby resign my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party effective from 10th October 2025, as I wish the party success in its activities,” he stated.
