The member representing Saki West state constituency, Hon Femi Julius Okedoyin popularly known as Omo GB has thanked the good people of Saki for entrusting him with their mandates to represent them at the 9th Oyo State House of Assembly.
Femi, while speaking with InsideOyo.com in his office on Monday, promised to ensure his representation brings fruitfulness to the people of Saki and Oyo state at large.
“I promise to give effective and fruitful representation. I look forward to address any matter affecting my constituency at all time through bills and motions. Going by the three major functions of a lawmaker – representation, oversight function and law making, I will make sure my people fill my impact. I have started that already. For example, something happened three days ago, flood affected an area, as one of my duties, I visited the area where I met with the leaders. I also contacted the contractor handling the work. We discussed the way forward which I promised to raise at the floor of the house.” he said.
Omo GB while speaking on his plans for Saki state constituency noted that he has started moves to make sure he holds town hall meeting where people of Saki will meet him to discuss and channel way forward for issues about the development of Saki. He added that the notion of politicians staying away from their people after winning elections will be different now as he will make his constituency office open to everyone.
“Saki development is one thing I value most. The notion that politicians distance themselves from their people after election will be different this time around. I have plans to organise town hall meeting. Aside that, I will be available at home as much as I can to meet my constituents. Let me also add that my constituency office will be open to everyone while I will also be available for anyone who has ideas on how we can move Saki forward.” he added.
The Local Government Studies Graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University also hinted on his plan to empower traders, business owners in his constituency with loan which will enable them boost their businesses.
“Let me also add that I have plans to empower traders and business owners with token amount of money to boost their businesses. This and so many others projects will be unveiled very soon.” he said.
Femi also added that Youth empowerment will not be left untouched.
“The Youth of Saki West state constituency will not also be left in our programs. We will do talent hunt to discover talented youth especially in football and support them to get necessary team both home and abroad. Like we did before election, the football competition we organized will not stop, we will organize more of it kind. Vocational trainings will not also be left out, I will organize training and give instruments to youth after the training to help them.” he concluded.
