An erosion control project given approval by President Muhammadu Buhari in August 2018 had been inaugurated in Ibadan, Oyo State, InsideOyo.com has gathered.
The project, which comprised the construction of a rural road and a bridge in a gully area in Egbeda Local Government of Oyo State, connected four communities.
Radio Nigeria reports that the benefiting communities are: Oke Ayo Tuntun, Amero, Atari Agbon and Ile Tun-Tun.

Performing the inauguration on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, said the project formed part of the nineteen projects in flood prone areas in the country funded and supervised by the Ecological Fund to mitigate effects of flooding.
President Muhammadu Buhari said the project would reduce dangers associated with erosion in Nigeria.
Representative of the landlords and landlady’s association in the communities, Mr Fasina Isiaka said residents of the communities had suffered untold social and economic hardship due to the erosion that damaged the bridges linking the communities.
In an interview, the Chairman, Egbeda Local Government, Mr Sadiq Akintunde, said the economic potential of the affected communities would be harnessed for rapid development of the area.
