The lawmaker representing Oyo North Senatorial District at the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari has urged Muslim faithfuls to refrain from any sinful behaviour that may negate their rewards of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.
He gave this admonition in a congratulatory message to Muslim faithfuls on the commencement of Ramadan fasting.
The lawmaker said the spiritual rewards of the holy month are too numerous to loose because of frivolities and other forms immoral acts.
He urged them to also ensure increase in offering of sacrifices, charity, supplications, and recitation of the holy Quran.
He said further that they should assist and share foods, gifts with the needy as well as remembering people that are down with ailment and unable to observe the Ramadan fasting in prayers and supplications.
“We should also concern ourselves with prayers for the leadership of this country, no doubt Nigeria is experiencing some difficulties which requires divine intervention and our prayers will go a long way in getting Allah’s attention for solution”. He said.
“In a time like this as a nation, all we need is divine intervention through our prayers and supplications to Almighty God to help our leaders in piloting the affairs and bless our nation more as we prepare to go into another political dispensation”. He added.
