The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police in charge of South-West zone, Foluso Adebanjo has commended Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi for sustaining the peaceful environment he enthroned on assumption of office in 2011.
Mr. Adebanjo stated this when he paid a courtesy call to the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office, in Ibadan and received by the State deputy governor, Chief Alake Adeyemo on Thursday.
He said he was touring the Southwest to assess the level of security and to interact with the stakeholders on the state of affairs.
In his part, Governor Ajimobi restated the need for the police to continue to collaborate with other security and intelligence agencies across the country to overcome the menace of kidnappers and herdsmen ravaging the country.
He appealed to the police authority to clamp down on the killer herdsmen and kidnappers disturbing the peace of the country with the same intensity it crushed the Boko Haram insurgents.
