As a way of assisting security agencies in order to rid Felele area of Ibadan South East local government and other communities in his constituency, the lawmaker representing Ibadan North East / Ibadan South East in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina has lent his support to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.
This was after he he had addressed protesting Felele youths who had come to intimate him of the incessant armed robbery attack in the area.
For weeks, the community had witnessed series of armed robbery attacks, leaving many members of the community injured. Some of them are said to be currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital for gunshot wound.
While addressing the youths, the former commissioner had promised to interface with security agencies in the community to see what can be done to nip the menace in the bud.
Presenting a cash support and a motorcycle to fortify its operations, the youthful lawmaker urged officials of the agency to do everything possible to make the community a safe place to live.
“It is just so sad. What is happening in Felele is just so sad. I grew up here and I knew how peaceful it used to be. We all have a duty to face this and defeat this menace altogether. If you recall, most of my empowerment schemes have been targetted mostly at youth. It was done solely in order to get them empowered so that they won’t become tools in the hands of the devil. I believe that those behind the armed robbery attack would soon be smoked out. However, anybody that has a tip of how to get the men of the underworld shouldn’t hesitate to assist security agencies with useful information,” he explained.
