Some unidentified thugs on Friday vandalised the campaign vehicle of the African Democratic Congress’s governorship candidate, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin which led to the disruption of campaign of the party in Ilora, Oyo state.
While the gubernatorial candidate, Olufemi Lanlehin mounted the podium to address members of the community at about 7pm the hoodlums started throwing stones and sticks.
Vehicles bearing the posters of ADC aspirants were vandalised.
Some supporters of ADC who were assaulted sustained physical injuries.
One of the supporters said “we had suspected that something was about to happen.
“As we got there, we saw one of them drawing out his pistol, then we chased them.
“We thought they had left but they went to reinforce.”
As at the time this report was gathered, the cause of the violence is yet to be identified.
