The Chairman, Oyo State Rural Water Supply Agency, (OYRUWASSA), Engineer Najeem Omirinde has congratulated the former Deputy Governor, Ambassador Taofeeq Arapaja over his emergence as the Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Omirinde in a statement on Sunday urged him to work assiduously towards returning the party to power in 2023.
Recall that Omirinde had earlier predicted that Arapaja will win the contest and that he’s the best man for the job.
Arapaja was declared winner having gathered 2,004 votes to defeat his only opponent, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, a former governor of Osun State, who polled 705 votes.
He also commended Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state and the Chairman, Governor’s Advisory Council, Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola for their role in Arapaja’s victory and in stabilizing the party.
He said: “Congratulations to His Excellency, Ambassador Taofeeq Arapaja over his victory at the convention and emerging as the Deputy National Chairman (South) of our great party, the PDP.
“The time is now, one journey to regain power at the top starts now. I want to urge him to carry everyone along in this journey to rescue Nigeria.
“Let me also use this opportunity to commend His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde and Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola for their role towards ensuring the victory and stabilizing the party.”
