The population of Oyo state has hit 7,840,864 as of 2016, latest demographic estimates released by the National Bureau of Statistics seen by insideoyo.com showed.
In 2006, the population census conducted put the State’s population at 5,591,589.
This was contained in the 2017 demographic statistics released by the NBS last Tuesday.

In the report, Nigeria’s total population climbed to 193.3 million as at the date under review.

Oyo state is followed closely by Katsina state with a population figure of 7,831,319. The most densely populated states are Kano and Lagos with 13 million and 12 million respectively.
