Mr. Ashiru Abiola, a prosecution witness for the All Progressives Congress (APC) has told the Oyo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal that the scores recorded for parties in the election were incorrect.
Abiola said this on Monday while being cross-examined by Mr. Akinlolu Kehinde, the counsel to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The witness, who was APC’s agent in Ward 5 Unit 4 in Oyo East Local Government Area of the state, said the total number of votes cast was 304 as against 302 recorded in the form.
He said the accredited votes was 309 while rejected votes were five, making the number of votes cast by the parties to be 304.
Abiola said that APC scored 97 votes instead of the 93 votes recorded, adding that he disagreed with what was recorded in the result sheet.
When asked if he signed the form, the witness told the tribunal that he signed the form in order to collect his copy of the result sheet.
Also testifying, Mrs. Iyiola Kafayat from Kajola Local Government said that there was violence in her local government.
The tribunal chaired by Justice Muhammed Sirajo had taken an hour break as at the time of this report.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, the governorship candidate of APC, is challenging the victory of Gov. Seyi Makinde of PDP in the March 9 governorship election in Oyo State.
Other respondents in the matter are the PDP and INEC.
NAN reports that Makinde polled a total of 515,621 votes to defeat his closest rival, Adelabu, who had 357,982 votes.
