The recent approval of 27 strategic road projects across 15 states by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is another bold demonstration of his administration’s commitment to rebuilding Nigeria through critical infrastructure. Of particular significance is the allocation of eight road projects to Oyo State, including the much-anticipated Oyo Circular Road, a project that has the potential to reshape transportation, stimulate economic activities, attract investments, and open new opportunities for businesses and communities across the state. This milestone reinforces the belief that sustainable infrastructure remains one of the strongest foundations for national development.

As an indigene of Oyo and an aspirant for the Oyo East/Oyo West State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly under the All Progressives Congress (APC), I sincerely commend President Tinubu for this remarkable gesture. Beyond easing the movement of people and goods, these projects will enhance regional connectivity, support agricultural productivity, create jobs, and strengthen Oyo State’s position as one of the major economic gateways in the South-West. This investment is a clear indication that the Renewed Hope Agenda is translating into visible and impactful development across the country.

I also extend my profound appreciation to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade I, the Alaafin of Oyo, whose fatherly leadership, prayers, and unwavering commitment to the growth and unity of Oyo Kingdom continue to inspire confidence in our collective future. My gratitude equally goes to Amb. Victor Adekunle Adeleke, Chief of Protocol to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Chairman of the PBAT Again 2027 Support Group, for his steadfast commitment to advancing the Renewed Hope vision and his continuous efforts in promoting meaningful development. I also commend Distinguished Senator Yunus Akintunde, representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, and Hon. Prince Akeem Adeniyi Adeyemi, representing Oyo Federal Constituency, for their quality representation, accessibility, and dedication to attracting developmental projects that positively impact our people.

While we celebrate these approvals, it is equally important for all stakeholders to ensure that the projects are executed efficiently and completed within schedule so that the people can enjoy their full economic and social benefits. Good roads reduce the cost of transportation, improve security, facilitate trade, and encourage both local and foreign investments. The Oyo Circular Road and the other approved projects will undoubtedly contribute to the long-term prosperity of our state and improve the standard of living for countless families.

This historic development deserves the support and appreciation of every well-meaning citizen of Oyo State. I congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this visionary intervention and appreciate all our traditional and political leaders whose commitment and advocacy continue to position Oyo State for greater federal attention. I am confident that with sustained collaboration between government at all levels, our traditional institution, and the people, Oyo State will continue to witness transformational projects that will secure a brighter future for generations to come.
