As a way of preventing occurrence of flood in the state, the Oyo State House of Assembly has directed the Bureau of Physical Planning and Development Control to take necessary actions on old, abandoned and dilapidated buildings across the state.
The Assembly made this advise after the appearance of Commissioner for Environment, Chief Isaac Ishola; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Mr Gabriel Oguntola; Director-General, Bureau of Physical Planning and Development Control, Alhaji Waheed Gbadamosi and Special Adviser to the Governor on Security matters, Mr Olusegun Abolarinwa who came to brief the lawmakers on their action plans on old, abandoned and dilapidated buildings in every nook and cranny of the state.
Members of the Assembly had expressed their dissatisfaction over the state of some old structures across the state.
They urged the concerned ministry and agency to be more proactive and work harmoniously at ensuring that some of the structures do not pose security threat to the people of the state.
