Concerned All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and stakeholders in Oyo State have dismissed a publication targeting the Chairman of the National Revenue Service (NRS), Mr. Zachh Adedeji, describing it as false, malicious, and politically motivated.
In a statement issued on Monday, the stakeholders said that the write-up contained “unsubstantiated allegations, outright falsehoods, and personal attacks” aimed at creating division within the party’s ranks.
The stakeholders denied claims of financial recklessness, misuse of NRS funds, and alleged attempts to destabilize the APC, insisting that the allegations were baseless and unsupported by any credible evidence.
According to the statement, Mr. Adedeji remains a respected technocrat and loyal party member who has continued to make meaningful contributions to governance, institutional development, and the overall progress of the APC.
The group further expressed concern over what it described as the growing trend of weaponising political disagreements through propaganda and character assassination, warning that such actions threaten internal cohesion and democratic engagement within the party.
“It is unfortunate that political disagreements are now being weaponized through propaganda, character assassination, and deliberate misinformation aimed at tarnishing reputations and causing unnecessary tension within the party,” the statement read.
The concerned APC stakeholders urged party members and the general public to disregard the publication in its entirety, stressing that the party in Oyo State remains united and committed to internal democratic processes.
They also called for restraint among political actors, urging them to embrace unity, maturity, and constructive dialogue ahead of future political engagements, rather than engaging in inflammatory rhetoric capable of weakening the party.
The statement warned those behind the publication to desist from spreading unverified claims, noting that political ambition must not override truth, decency, and the collective interest of the part.
